The description of 27 volcanic caves from La Palma are presented herein: 23 of them are lava tubes and 4 volcanic pits. Their more remarkable geological and biological characteristics are commented and the surveys corresponding to 19 caves are provided. A list of the troglobitic species found in these caves during our study is also presented, standing out for their frequency and abundance the ground beetle Licinopsis angustula, the cockroach Lobopterasp. and the flightless fly Aptilotus martini, all of them local endemisms. -- Authors Open Access - Permission by Author(s) See Extended description for more information
