Entrepreneurial policies as a factor of economic growth

The link between economic growth and entrepreneurial activity is both an interesting and vital discussion to be had. In a time where many governments around the world strive to increase entrepreneurship levels in order to increase growth and prosperity, studies explicating the details of such relationships are of major importance. By explaining the concepts of entrepreneurship, exploring different types of government policy and examining literature on existing economic theories, this paper attempts to bridge entrepreneurship and economic growth. Italy, the Netherlands and Croatia, the three countries chosen as samples, provide interesting yet equivocal results through calculating a correlation coefficient between two datasets of 20-year GDP growth rates and early-stage entrepreneurial activity rates. The conclusion of the study is somewhat ambiguous and further study on the subject is needed if a definite answer is to be found.Veza između gospodarskog rasta i poduzetničke aktivnosti zanimljiva je i vitalna rasprava. U vrijeme u kojem mnoge vlade diljem svijeta nastoje povećati razinu poduzetništva kako bi povećale rast i prosperitet, istraživanja koja proučavaju detalje takvih odnosa od velike su važnosti. Objašnjavajući koncepte poduzetništva, istražujući različite vrste državne politike i proučavajući literaturu o postojećim ekonomskim teorijama, ovaj rad pokušava pronaći spoj između poduzetništva i gospodarskog rasta. Italija, Nizozemska i Hrvatska, tri zemlje odabrane kao uzorci, daju zanimljive, ali nesigurne rezultate izračunavanjem koeficijenta korelacije između dva skupa podataka o 20-godišnjim stopama rasta BDP-a i stopama poduzetničke aktivnosti u ranoj fazi.
