U ovom radu razmatra se određivanje optimalnog početnog oblika lima u postupcima cilindričnog dubokog vučenja sa ciljem dobivanja posudice kružnog vanjskog ruba. Razmatraju se postupci cilindričnog dubokog vučenja potpuno i nepotpuno izvučene posudice. Optimalni oblici određuju se na temelju rezultata simulacija postupaka u programu za analizu metodom konačnih elemenata ADINA 8.6 i primjenom metode koja se temelji na mjeri odstupanja od željenog oblika i putanji deformacije rubnih čvorova. U simulacijama su korištene elastične i plastične karakteristike lima aluminijske legure Al 2090-T3.
