046-01: 46-21 Eroded Dig Site Landscape Photograph

The black and white photograph depicts an eroded landscape with two horses and two people sitting in one of the low points of the draw. George F. Sternberg is one of the men sitting closest to the rightmost horse. The horses themselves are similarly sized, fitted with both saddle and saddlebags. The erosion has created badlands territories around the formation. Horizontal stratification and vertical rills are present in the eroded surfaces. Loose rocks and shrubs brush border the ravine the people are sitting in. These scattered, smaller outcrops lead into extensive, flat-top outcroppings as the landscape moves towards the far-back of the photo.
