044-01: Two Men with a Horse Pulling a Fossil

The man closest to the creek bed is pulling a field jacket, made up of burlap and plaster to surround the fossilized rock and bone, onto a pulley attached to the horse. The large fossil floats on a small wooden raft. The man closest to the water is pulling the field jacket out of the water by a rope. The man on top of the horse directs the horse to pull the field jacket to get it out of the water and onto dry land. They are surrounded by sage brush grass and rocks. The man next to the stream is wearing a brimmed hat with suspenders and trousers.
