Abdominal Palpation As An Aid to Gastroscopic Examination

Abdominal palpation when properly used is useful in minimizing or eliminating the blind spots of the lesser curvature of the antrum and at the tip of the instrument; it helps evaluate the pliability of accessible portions of the stomach and in many cases it will initiate peristalsis of the antrum.
