Drug addiction, especially cocaine addiction is a major problem in the United States. There is a problem in Michigan regarding drugs and a high recidivation rate, especially among individuals with cocaine addiction. Evidence shows that at least 56% of the African American adults in Michigan who are being arrested for cocaine usage had been released from a rehabilitation facility in the past 3 years. Various researchers have investigated the prevalence of drug abuse among the African American population in the United States.
