AbstractThe nursing workforce is in a crisis caused by critical imbalances which is evident through the nursing shortage, alarming rates of clinician burnout, and poor patient outcomes; this is expected to produce one million vacant positions within the next five years (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2020). Turnover rates and burnout continue to increase nation-wide while the workforce remains disengaged (Dempsey & Assi, 2018).
