In order to achieve the overall national goal – the full EU membership – Republic of Serbia adopted several strategic documents in the last decade, under the umbrella of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development. The goal of this paper is to present the research results on the relationship between the sustainable development and cultural heritage, showing the interrelations among relevant strategies and also in regard to the EU recommendations.
