This paper adds to the burgeoning conversation around the philosophical principles underlying librarianship. The paper builds on previous works calling for librarians to focus on praxis, a practice grounded in theory. I offer a new understanding of library philosophy by proposing an interpretation of some of the discipline's founding principles, and then arguing for the utility of anarchist philosophy as an analytical lens in the field. Finally, I provide an example of using this lens on the timely subject of political neutrality within public libraries.Master of Science in Library Scienc
