Previous studies have demonstrated cardiovascular causes to be among the leading causes of death after liver (LT) and kidney transplantation (KT). Although both recipient populations have unique pre-transplant cardiovascular burdens, they share similarities in post-transplant exposure to cardiovascular risk factors.
