Previous researchers have reported that students who sit in a specific spot in the classroom tend to participate more in class. We hypothesize that students who sit in the front of the classroom will participate more in class than students who sit in the back. We will be using naturalistic observation to examine how often students in the front of the classroom participate. Ten observers will collect data over a period of five weeks in ten undergraduate classes. This research is ongoing and data collection will continue through mid-March.</p
