The park is one of 11 protected wilderness areas of the Magallanes Region and Chilean Antarctica, which combined make up 51% of that region. It is one of Chile\u27s largest and its third most visited national park. There are a variety of surroundings found in the park including, mountains, valleys, lakes, rivers and glaciers. An edition of National Geographic named El Parque de Torres del Paine the fifth most beautiful place, and El Parque was also named the eighth Wonder of the World in 2013.
