The article looks at the potential of a school library\u27s design to facilitate 21st century literacy skills in students and help educators address Common Core standards. School libraries are suggested to accommodate and promote 21st century literacy and competency for students, as well as be collaborative, hands-on, and feature multifaceted design and delivery. The opportunity of school libraries to assume an instructional leadership role to influence academic achievement is discussed.</p
