DC corona discharges and dielectric barrier discharges (DBD) in air at atmospheric pressure are often used in chemistry due to their capacity to produce non-equilibrium chemical reactions. Under certain conditions, they can generate a flow called “ionic wind”. In this thesis, the effect of injecting a mist of water droplets into such plasmas is studied and applied for in situ volatile chemical species gathering. The objective is to study the motion of the aerosol induced by the discharge and its precipitation on the plate wall of a point-to-plate reactor, by means of a Particles Image Velocimetry (PIV) device at high frequency (20 kHz).
