Current environmental challenges are pushing us into the use of new building materials that are more environmentally friendly and that reduce the buildings' energy consumption throughout their life cycle. To this purpose, we propose the valorization of eco-aggregates resulting from industrial by-products in order to rehabilitate existing heritage. Carbonated aggregates are processed from an accelerated carbonation technology of incinerator ashes and bio-based aggregates are obtained from agriculture. The identification of the morphological, mechanical and thermal properties of these aggregates shows that they can integrate a binder matrix to produce structural and/or insulating concretes with performances at least equivalent to conventional...
