The world efforts to reduce the dangerous levels of pollution present biomass as an attractive fuel for the industrial power plants. Its abundance, sustainability and its resemblance to coal, makes it a potential candidate of incorporating it with coal in the existing infrastructure. This work is an experimental and numerical study of the combustion of pulverized biomass at both particle and flame scale. The diversity of biomass was simulated using torrefaction of raw Pine, in order to produce other types of biomass with controlled volatile content (VM).
