The goal of this thesis is to deepen the knowledge of the intergroup and intragroup dynamics that are exerted during the unemployment situation while taking into account the individual perspective in order to better understand the effects of unemployment on the psychological well-being of long term unemployed people. The first part offers a review of the literature and points out the interest of combining the individual and intergroup perspective to explain the causes of the deterioration in the well-being of unemployed people. The second part examines the stereotypes of the unemployed compared to workers, based on recent theories related to social judgment.
