The Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction in ultrathin magnetic films gives birth to chiral magnetic domain walls, which have a potential for applications in spintronics and magnetic storage. This thesis aims for a better description of chiral domain-walls under an external in-plane magnetic field used to affect their static and dynamic behaviors. The first chapter gives an overview of existing theoretical and experimental works concerning chiral domain walls. The second chapter describes the methods used by the author to measure the velocity of domain walls in three different samples of ultrathin magnetic films with perpendicular anisotropy.
