The development of optical interference filters for multispectral imagers has revealed new problems specific to these thin film components. The numerous physical interfaces between their inner layers generate light scattering which can alter the use of the filter. It is therefore essential to understand and control this phenomenon. Three tools have been developed for that purpose: modeling, metrology, and synthesis.An electromagnetic model has been implemented by the CONCEPT group of the Fresnel Institute.
