Photography of the solar corona is one of the most challenging tasks in astronomical photography due to the enormous radial gradient of brightness and the relative faintness of some structures. This contribution describes the properties of human vision to show how human eyes can cope with these extreme brightness contrasts, and describes methods for enhancing coronal structures. A new, Fourier-series based method for visualization of these structures is proposed.</p
