James G. Crump graduated from the University of Maine in 1954 with a B.S. Degree in Paper Technology. He started his paper industry career with Great Northern Paper and began his climb into the management ranks. For 16 years, Crump worked with various units of Boise Cascade Corporation. He served as Assistant Manager, Manufacturing at International Falls, Minnesota; Manager of Manufacturing-West in Portland, Oregon; and Vice President, Manufacturing at Boise Cascade Southern in Deridder, Louisiana. In 1981, Crump rejoined Great Northern Nekoosa as Vice President- Manufacturing responsible for the Nekoosa Paper Operations in Wisconsin and Arkansas.
