James G. Crump

James G. Crump graduated from the University of Maine in 1954 with a B.S. Degree in Paper Technology. He started his paper industry career with Great Northern Paper and began his climb into the management ranks. For 16 years, Crump worked with various units of Boise Cascade Corporation. He served as Assistant Manager, Manufacturing at International Falls, Minnesota; Manager of Manufacturing-West in Portland, Oregon; and Vice President, Manufacturing at Boise Cascade Southern in Deridder, Louisiana. In 1981, Crump rejoined Great Northern Nekoosa as Vice President- Manufacturing responsible for the Nekoosa Paper Operations in Wisconsin and Arkansas. He was named the company\u27s Executive Vice President in 1984 and President in 1985. In 1990, he was named Executive Vice President of Georgia Pacific where he was employed until his retirement. Crump served as a member of the University of Maine Pulp and Paper Foundation’s Investment Management Committee and served on the Board of Directors. During his career, Crump hired a number of UMaine Pulp and Paper Foundation graduates and provided financial support to several of the Foundation’s scholarships.
