U sastavu Vardarske zone, jedne od tektonski najsloženijih oblasti Balkanskog poluostrva, u čijem domenu se odvijalo otvaranje i zatvaranje okeanskih prostora i subdukcija koja je dovela do intenzivne magmatske aktivnosti pretežno tokom tercijara, danas se nalazi veći broj magmatskih kompleksa. U ovoj disertaciji su obrađene geološke karakteristike trinaest izabranih magmatskih kompleksa Vardarske zone tercijarne starosti, i laboratorijski određena mineraloškopetrografska svojstva stena u njihovom sastavu i fizičko-mehanička svojstva kamena značajna za utvrđivanje mogućnosti njihove primene za dobijanje blokova arhitektonskog građevinskog kamena iz kojih se dobijaju ploče za oblaganje građevinskih objekata.
