During speech production, not only currently spoken fragments of utterances but also both their past and future portions are being monitored. Errors in which sounds or words are either spoken ahead of their time(anticipations), or produced later than they should be (perseverations), evidence that speech planning activates the present, deactivates the past, and prepares to activate the future. The aim of this research was to study the frequency and phonetic characteristics of anticipations and perseverations in Hungarian.
