International audienceUpgrading the biogases requires the removal of deleterious volatile org. compds. For that purpose, the adsorption onto activated carbon fiber cloths was studied. First, high adsorption capacities were measured and isotherm models were compared. The Langmuir exhibited a 0.961 coeff. of detn. and was further used in the numerical simulation of breakthrough curves. Despite the efficiency of the model for toluene, the global simulation was not relevant for other compds. and the errors on the Langmuir parameters were evidenced to cause large uncertainties on the modelled breakthrough curves. Finally, the electrothermal desorption up to 200 °C can totally regenerate the adsorbent only for toluene, dichloromethane and isoprop...
