There is much talk nowadays about th e Pentecostal movement, but It is very rarely considered from the point of view of man’s unfulfilled need of the holy. Here we want to consider this point of view, Two characteristics stand out as essential to th e Pentecostal movement: prayer and the speaking in unknown languages (glossalia) and they echo the religious aspirations of the prechristian peoples and the ancient sacral tradition. That is the reason why the Charismatic renewal is first of all a religious renewal and not an alienated expression of unfulfilled social aspirations
