Reduction of N2O by chars from subbituminous Siersza, Piast and Janina coals have been studied in a pressurised reactor at 973 - 1173 K. It has been found that the reaction N2O + [C] N2 + [CO] is controlled both by the chemical kinetics and diffusion of N2O within char particle\u27s pores. The rate constant of the above reaction has been found to be independent of pressure within the examined range of 0.2 – 1.0 MPa
