Ultrazvuk velike snage i frekvencije od 20 kHz upotrijebljen je za inaktivaciju bakterija Staphylococcus aureus i Escherichia coli u mlijeku koje je sadržavalo 4 % mliječne masti. Ispitivanja su planirana i provedena primjenom statističkog eksperimentalnog dizajna. Naime, središnji kompozitni dizajn pokusa primijenjen je pri optimiranju eksperimentalnih parametara: temperature (20, 40 i 60 °C), amplitude (60, 90 i 120 µm) i vremena obrade (6, 9 i 12 min).
