Book of Gospels (Evangeliarum Spalatense) of St. Dujam in Split

The book of four gospels from Split (Evangeliarium Spalatense), which has been keeping in st. Dujam\u27s cathedral tresaury, it is the oldest manuscripts written on the parchment that is kept in Yugoslavia. Writer proves that it is about late-ancient codex which is written in the second half or just before the end of 6th century. A thing of halfunciale(s) in Split\u27s codex it can not be explained in other way than as a transcription of a certain older codex, which had to have exceptional significance. Because, the oldest preserved Gospels in Latin in version of st. Jerome Vulgate are written with halfunciale(s). In the second of 7th century The Book of Gospels we find in Split. Though, in principle, there is possibil\u27ity that at that time it was brought from Italy, it seems more likely that it was brought in Diocletian\u27s palace immediately from Solin, perhaps with martyr\u27s romains
