This study was conducted cooperatively by the Illinois Natural History Survey and the Department of Forestry of the Illinois Agricultural Experiment Station. Prior to 1954, it was financed by these agencies and the National Oak Wilt Research Committee which had at its disposal funds provided by the oak-consuming industries. It has been conducted since 1953 under the title "Application of Measures for the Control of Oak Wilt in an Intensively Managed Forest," and is a contributing project to the North Central Regional Project NC-22. --P.
