V této diplomové práci bylo testováno použití sekvenátoru MinION (Oxford Nanopore) na vzorcích připravených tak, aby simulovaly infekční vzorky. Testovaný postup má simulovat práci se vzorkem s neznámým patogenem, proto byl také vybrán metagenomický přístup. Byly testovány tři kity: Rapid Barcoding Sequencing, PCR Barcoding a Premium whole genome amplification, které se lišily v délce a náročnosti přípravy a způsobu amplifikace nukleových kyselin. Pro testování bylo vybráno celkem osm virů s různými délkami a různým typem genomu (5,6 - 152 kb, ss/ds RNA, dsDNA), ze kterých bylo připraveno 10 vzorků simulující různé infekce (respirační, gastrointestinálního traktu a moči) a jeden vzorek obsahoval pouze vodu, jako negativní kontrolu.
