The paper presents the results of a geomorphological research into the river terrace system and an evolution of the Eger (Ohře) valley in the western part of the Bohemian Massif. The Eger River terraces originated in complex and variable morphotectonic and climate-morphogenetic conditions that existed during the late Cenozoic evolution of the valley. A morphostratigraphical system of Pliocene fluvial sediments and seven levels of the accumulation river terraces of the Quaternary period were determined (Fig. 2). A correlation of terrace flights in the longitudinal profile of the Eger River with the current stratigraphic classification of the Quaternary (Tab. 1) enabled to specify the range and main phases of the Quaternary tectonic processes...
