A Descriptive Analysis of the Economy of South Dakota

The economy of South Dakota is diverse and made up of many important factors. The agriculture industry is the most commonly known component of the state\u27s economy. However, other sectors have also flourished or changed in recent years. This paper examines South Dakota\u27s economy and identifies important economic indicators that best describe the structure of the economy. Economic data from 1997-2001 is presented to create a snapshot of the economy during a fixed period of time. A descriptive analysis of the data provides growth trends, suggests connections between different components of the economy, and offers reasonable bounds for describing future changes in the economy
