The goal of this thesis is to focus on measuring image quality of stereo image pairs after lossy compression. The rest of this paper consists of three sections. The first section contains a procedure for digital stereo image matching. Once the matching results were available, commonly used quality metrics could be applied to the stereo image pair before the matching process and to the matched data. The performances of these metrics are discussed in the second part of this paper. In the final section, some new ideas of quality metrics on stereo image pairs, though not as good as current ones, are introduced and future work is recommended
