This proposed project will study the efficacy of an art therapy peer support group for improving children’s adjustment to divorce. Although the divorce rate in the United States appears to have decreased slightly from its peak in 1981 (U.S. Census Bureau, 2004-2005), the U.S. divorce rates remain the highest of any developed country (Resnikoff, 2001) at approximately 50% for first marriages and higher rates for remarriages.
