Mária-siralmak a Ferences iskoladrámák 1–3. köteteiben

The topic of the paper is the analysis of a single genre in the first volume of Régi Magyar Drámai Emlékek XVIII. század 6. Ferences iskoladrámák [Records of Early Hungarian Drama 18 century 6. Franciscan School Plays] published in 2009 and its second and third volumes that appeared this year. The choice of this topic was inspired by the religiosity and maternity of the celebrated Márta Zsuzsanna Pintér and by our collaboration on the drama texts: we survey the most painful manifestations of motherhood in the Csíksomlyó passion plays, the Laments of Mary. Having arrived halfway in the publication of the enormous material, cross- and back-references have multiplied (with some anticipatory references, too). A part of the melodies can be used for more and more morality plays, and this encourages us to propose new folk hymns to be used for the given group of syllable numbers: we could mention tunes in several relevant folk music collections already uploaded on the Internet, but the score only of one is given in print. Scrutinizing all the so-far published volumes of the critical text edition of the Csíksomlyó passion plays (in mind and on paper), we take the Marian laments one by one and try to word the possibilities apart from the annotation of the text edition, together with our thoughts of this beautiful genre and the musical implications of each lament
