The importance of the donor-to-recipient body surface area ratio or the calculated donor kidney-weight to recipient body-weight ratio is still matter of controversy in clinical renal transplantation(Tx). To assess the value of the true kidney weight(KW in gms) to the recipient body-weight(BW in kg) ratio in living donor renal Tx, the records of 165 adult living donor renal transplants were reviewed. All patients received uniform cyclosporine and steroid immunosuppression. Five patients were excluded because of early graft loss. In the remaining 160 patients, full information including KW, BW, degree of HLA matching, demographics of recipient and donor, acute rejection(AR) episodes, serum creatinine(Scr) at post-Tx 1 month and 1 year, 24 hou...
BACKGROUND Knowledge of an optimal expected serum creatinine (SCr) would be useful to detect early ...
Long-term renal graft losses are mainly due to chronic allograft dysfunction(CAD). In addition to im...
Long-term function of kidney allografts depends on multiple variables, one of which may be the compa...

Within the four decades, transplantation of the kidney has become a unique and exciting treatment fo...
Reduced renal mass or mismatching kidney size are risk factors for chronic allograft nephropathy. We...
BACKGROUND: We demonstrated that higher donor kidney weight-to-recipient body weight (KW/BW) ratio ...
BACKGROUND: Graft mass has been demonstrated to be a determinant of outcome after kidney transplanta...
Background. Few studies have directly measured the kidney weight and investigated donor parameters r...
Serum creatinine (Scr) is the most frequently used test to estimate graft function after kidney tran...
Background. Nephron endowment in renal transplantation is infrequently considered, but may have impo...
Purpose: Renal allograft mass may potentially affect long term outcome after kidney transplantation....
AbstractTo investigate whether the ratio of remnant kidney volume to body weight (V/W ratio) can imp...
BACKGROUND: We measured donor kidney weight (D-KW), functional renal volume (D-FRV), and single-kidn...
