A Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness Guided Imagery Technique on Quality of Sleep among Orthopaedic Surgical Patients in a Selected Hospital at Palladam, Coimbatore

A study was conducted to assess the efficacy of guided sleep imaging among patients who had Orthopaedic surgery at Ponni Hospital and ASN Hospital, Palladam. A quantitative evaluative methodology was used with the creation of a quasi-experimental pre-test, post-test control group. Non-probability purposive sampling method was used to select the samples. 60 samples were collected, 30 of which were allocated to the experimental group from the ASN HOSPITAL and 30 were assigned to the control group from the PONNI HOSPITAL. The conceptual framework analysis selected for this study was based on customized general theory of the method by Ludwig Von Bertanlanffy. Demographic variables were obtained using a Schedule of Organized Interviews. In the experimental group, the investigator used guided imagery and used GRONINGEN Sleep intensity rating scale to assess sleep level. In the investigator group of monitors determine the sleep level without any intervention. The data collected was analysed using statistical descriptive and inferential tool. Paired “t” test value was calculated to assess the effectiveness of guided imagery on patients who underwent Orthopaedic surgery to reduce sleep levels in the experimental group
