The present work is dedicated to the understanding of the void closure mechanism during the hot rolling of bars issued from continuous casting processes. A representative experimental testing was developed to reproduce the key parameters involved in the porosity evolution during the industrial forming. These parameters were identified throughout a bibliographic study and concern the thermomechanical path depicted by the stress triaxiality and the strain and the void's physical and geometrical properties. The representativeness of the experiment is improved by using samples containing a shrinkage cavity formed during a dedicated casting process.
