The primary purposes of the ISER Alaska input-output model are to measure the economic impact and economic importance of selected activities on the Alaska economy and to measure the economic impact of changes in the level of these activities. A related purpose is to study the structure of the Alaska economy. The input-output model can be used to conduct both economic impact analysis and economic significance analysis. For example, the model could be used to estimate the economic importance of a new ski resort in South Central Alaska.
