This study will attempt to test the following aspects of present counseling effectiveness in Washington high schools. After being asked, students will say: 1. Counselors are quite useful to them. 2. Their ideas about the counselor came mainly from discussion with their friends. 3. Counseling is mostly for vocational-educational reasons and not for personal reasons. 4. They recommended counseling to friends or fellow students and would do so again. 5. The high school counselor is an asset to their school. 6. There are several reasons why more students do not use high school counseling services. 7. High school counselors possess many desirable personality traits. 8.
