Taking a social cultural approach, the author first documents the creation and increasing popularity of Facebook Arabia, among Arab youth. He then briefly reviews some of the sociodemographics of the subscribers to Facebook Arabia. Finally, he suggests that Arab Internet surfers can play an important role in creating a virtual public sphere of contestation
