By 2030 aquaculture production is expected to reach 109 million tonnes, an increase of 32 percent over 2018. These data can give us an idea about the importance of aquaculture as economic activity. But, due to intensification in aquaculture practices it is necessary to develop natural and eco-friendly alternatives allowing the growth of this economic activity without compromising the health of fishes, consumers and environment.
