Grass Planting

Photograph of Watersheds - Robert D. Libbert, Plant Materials technician, Manhattan, Kansas, recommended the following species of grass be planted in the wet areas below this site: Western Wheatgrass, Intermediate Wheat grass, Caddo Switchgrass, Tall Wheatgrass, Reed Canarygrass, Redtop Southland Brome, and KY-31 Fescure. Mr. Ely prepared a good firm seedbed in areas where equipment could get across and grass was sown in 20' strips running North and South. Seeding done under supervision of Chester Fry, Range Specialist, Ardmore. Other photos will follow showing results. Planting will be fertilized with approximately 200 lbs of 16-20-0 per acre
