Belgian archaeology has changed from a national topic to the responsibility of the different regions with different choices on scientific research and management. Notwithstanding the different policies, Bronze Age research has moved further on several topics. The introduction of new technologies such as Lidar has shown the potential for funerary archaeology in undervalued regions. Radiocarbon dating has opened our insight in the funerary practices and in the chronology of building traditions as well. Large scale excavations offered new documentation on landscape use but there are still many gaps to fill in.
