This paper provides an overview of the basic social consequences of the process of expansion of higher education, inflation of diploma and de-valorization of their instrumental value in the labor market, with special emphasis on the problem of social (class) and gender inequalities that accompanies this process. In the absence of appropriate domestic sources, research material and our statistics overview, the critical-theoretical analysis were based on the findings of numerous studies of French sociologists of education.
