Surendra Bhana (1939–2016) was professor of history at the University of Durban-Westville and professor of history at the University of Kansas. His numerous publications include Setting Down Roots: Indian Migrants in South Africa, 1860–1911 (coauthored with J.B. Brain) and Indentured Indian Emigrants to Natal 1860–1902.With a New Foreword by Carlos Figueroa.This Kansas Open Books title is funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Andrew W.
