The paper is devoted to an experimental study of the effect of an electric discharge energy and the conditions of its flow (in air and using distilled water) on the geometrical parameters of a single well obtained on a sample of U8A steel, as well as the microhardness of its surface layer. The questions of the technique for carrying out experimental studies are described, including a description of the device for obtaining single holes on the surface of a steel sample, as well as the means and methods for measuring their geometric parameters and microhardness of the surface layer.
