Bearingless switched reluctance motor (BSRM) has the advantages of high integration and low loss, and is especially suitable for flywheel batteries. In order to enhance the reliability and fault tolerance ability of BSRM, a novel dual-channel BSRM is proposed in this paper. This motor has the combined merits of switched reluctance motor and magnetic bearing, and can realize dual-channel fault-tolerant operation. The scalloped rotor poles are evenly distributed on the inner and outer walls of the rotor. All rotor poles are specially widened, which is benefit for raising the continuity of radial suspension force.
