Psychogenic non-epileptic seizures are a sub-type of seizures that are typically associated with trauma and dissociative disorders. This paper explores the overall nature of these seizures. The presentation of the actual seizures is discussed along with who typically develops this condition. The factors and potential causes of the onset of this condition and prognosis of this condition are examined. Overall, there is a consensus that this condition is the result of underlying psychological conditions and best treated through cognitive behavioral therapy.
